Katy Trail Conditions – Winter 2021

Winter is an often overlooked but excellent time to traverse the Katy Trail. While restrooms and water are limited, the trail is open. Start 2021 out right and hit the gravel!

This map is maintained by the Missouri State Parks and lists most trail closures and detours.

Closures and cautions summarized below were last updated 10/16/2020.

Temporary Closures

  • MM 37 – Until further notice, this section of Katy Trail will be closed for installation of a new storm pipe and levee floodgate. Follow detour signs to N. Main Street to by-pass work area.
  • MM 74 – Dutzow Trailhead – Water / Restrooms closed – Portable toilet provided
  • MM 77 – Marthasville Trailhead – Water / Restrooms closed – Portable toilet provided
  • MM 116 – 118 – Rock fall on trail – no recommended detour
  • MM 143 – North Jefferson Trailhead – Restroom remains open with water. Water fountain turned off.
  • MM 153 – Hartsburg Trailhead – Restroom remains open with water. Water fountain turned off.
  • MM 169 – McBaine Trailhead – Restroom remains open, water fountain turned off.
  • MM 178 – Rocheport Trailhead – Restroom remains open with water. Water fountain turned off.
  • MM 178.5 – 181, Central Street in Rocheport to Davisdale (beg. 11/1/19) – flood damage – Additional flooding expected – Detour Info
  • MM 181 – 181.6 – Closed due to the Salt Creek bridge being out. Trail users should use signed detour and not cross the barrier at MM 178.5 and MM 181.4.
  • MM 188.21 – New Franklin Trailhead – Restroom closed, no water.
  • MM 191 – Boonville Trailhead – Restroom closed, no water. Portable toilet provided.
  • MM 203 – Pilot Grove Trailhead – Restroom closed, no water.
  • MM 227 – Sedalia Trailhead – Restroom closed, no water.
  • East of MM 227.1, east of Sedalia Trailhead (beg. 11/14/16) alternate road route – Detour Info
  • MM 239 – Green Ridge Trailhead – Restroom closed, no water. Portable toilet provided.
  • MM 247 – Windsor Trailhead – Restroom closed, no water. Portable toilet provided.
  • MM 255 – Calhoun Trailhead – Restroom closed, no water.
  • MM 264 – Clinton Trailhead – Restroom closed, no water. Portable toilet provided.
